“Foundations may be set up by foreigners. The application must be submitted to the registrar of the Office of the National Culture Commission in the area where the principal office of the foundation is situated.

One director of the board in any such foundation must be a Thai national. The regulations regarding foundations are found in Title II, Chapter II, Part III of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand.

Is it not true that the Thai nationals must be high-ranking officials or famous people, but the law states that the director(s) of the foundation “shall have status or conduct suitable for implementing the objectives of the foundation. If not the registrar shall instruct the applicant to make corrections or alterations." ”
